ADAREORG empowers the DBA to quickly and easily respond to database restructuring demands.

ADAREORG makes it easy to change file structures. You can:

Insert or delete fields anywhere in a file, even in a PE;

create subsets of existing files based on comparisons of specified fields;

convert data formats, e.g. field type conversions, changes in length, or to move fields into or out of periodic groups;

reorder fields within a record;

manipulate data below field level;

join two files, which may be compressed or decompressed.

Decompression and compression is performed on a record-by-record basis in a single step, eliminating the need to have large amounts of disk space for decompressed files.
